Trilobite Bracers by Azmal Trilobite Bracers by Azmal
Custom Tooled Trilobite leather bracers. They were actually very small (about 5" tall) so the tooling was somewhat intricate in the end.
Embossed shape a bit.

I've always loved trilobites. I never realized what an attractive symbol they could make. You did a beautiful job! :D

Do you tool then wetmold? I assume you have to, but it seems like all the tooling will get stretched out of existence!

It is worth saying again, awesome job on these! I love the way you did the edging and the oval around the trilobite. I am very happy.

Even more awesome in person. I love the subtle purple under the blue, and it's causing me no end of smiles/giggles that the glabella is slightly domed due to the tooling. :)

Seems like a strange thing to want displayed on your armour, but hey, whatever makes the customer happy, right? ;) They look fantastic, regardless. Most people who see them probably won't catch the trilobite right away and think it's just a cool design.

These don't seem so strange, at least not to someone who works with rocks and fossils. :)

Hm, maybe it's a sort of secret society identifier thing for people "in the know." Easier to operate than a decoder ring. ;)

*chuckle* in a way, but paleontology geekery is far from a secret society. If you catch someone "in the know" in the right mood, you're likely to have your ear talked off about all the intricacies of whatever you asked about.

I'd probably be interested, at least to start with. Then my brain would move on to something else. ;P My conversations tend to be very random.

Nice work! At 5", I bet it was pretty difficult to get the detailed tooling just right ^.^
