Client sent me some new pics of a project made early 2012.
These were made for a sushi restaurant in Florida. Two of the three are shown here.
They were created entirely from leather and are heavily formed for 3D depth.
The left one is over 10 feet long and required a full oversized tooling hide for just the body. The one on the right is 6 or 7ft long.
They were made by hand shaping the all the details and shapes so no molds were used.
They were painted using automotive paints with a variety of effects like iridescent, hi-lite, sparkle, interference, and finished with 3 coats of clear for a really wet look.
